Good news:)

I just got back from the hospital and they will be releasing my mom this evening. I wanted to say sorry to anyone who I forgot the call in the chaos of everything. I understand that some people feel hurt that they did not know what was going on. I promise, the next time (hopefully there won't be a next time), I will be better at making a lot more phone calls! But anyway, things seem to be much better. Around 6:00 tonight, the doctor's pysician's assistant will go over everything with my mom and then she will be released. I want to thank everyone who keep my mom and my family in their thoughts and prayers. I know that was a big help in her recovery. It was also nice to see so many familiar faces by her side in the hospital especially when several people went more than once. I know it made my mom feel very loved and it helped her get through these scary times.

Newest News

Hi all:) The surgery seems to have gone well. One of the vessels was 70% blocked, so they put a shunt in to keep it open. My mom now has a card to take to the airport in case she beeps going through metal detectors. They have given her some new regulations on diet and exercise. She says she feels, "Sooo much better!" We are hoping she will come home tomorrow. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers (and sub plans:)! I will keep posting as I know anything new.

Another Update

My mom is looking much better. They have moved her from ICU to CCU. It is still scary, but not as much! She is off the IV and insulin from a tube. These are all good things. They are thinking now that the enzyme that was elevated in her body was a sign that she may have had a small heart attack. She is getting an angioplasty tomorrow morning with a really good doctor. They are hoping to see if there is any damage or blockage to any of the vessels around her heart. That should be done around 7:00-7:30 tomorrow morning. On a less serious, but still not fun note, they found that she also has gall stones. She may end up needing her gall bladder removed. She is hoping to leave the hospital on Wednesday morning and be back to work by Monday.
Needless to say, this has been a very stressful couple of weeks. Seeing and hearing all the support from family, friends, and coworkers has made it a lot easier. Thank you for all the calls, visits, thoughts, and prayers. Please continue to think and pray for her especially tomorrow between 7-8 in the morning. I will update again tomorrow after work with anything new I know.

Update on my mom

As you may or may not know, my mom has been in and out of the hospital over the last week. She has an infection that has affected her diabetes. They still do not know what has caused this sickness. Her vitals are getting better and her sugar is finally getting back to normal. She has been in ICU since Friday. They are hoping she will go into a regular room today. Once she is taken off the IV's and other meds, they will monitor her for 24 hours to make sure her sugars and everything else remain stable without medication. We are hoping she will come home Monday and will return to work on Wednesday. I will keep you all updated. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers:)

First Angels' Game:)

My friend, Shalimar (and her adorable son, Slavatore) took Milan and me to the Angels' game a few weeks ago.
We were decked out in Angels' gear:)

The kids roamed free in the halls stopping every once in a while to shout, "Angels!"

We did not sit in our seats long and did not see much of the game, but it was fun anyway! Thanks Shalimar and Salvatore:)

Water Table

We got Milan a sand a water table a few weeks ago. We decided not to use sand this year and filled it up with just water. She really likes to play with it. Rudy likes to use it as his private water dish. He also likes to chew on the toys in it.

I had a little bit of a rough time getting it home though. It was too big to fit in the trunk or the front seat. And, of course I made the mother of all mistakes by taking Milan with me to Toys R Us. The very young guy that was helping me get it in the car suggested just putting it across the bottom of the back seat and letting Milan sit with her legs folded. Needless to say, this was NOT a good idea. I had to call Jay about five minutes into the ride home to come save us. He had to take Milan home so I could get the water table home because she was screaming so much! Bad mommy! Thanks daddy:)

Splashing in the Sprinklers

Arboretum Again:)

I wanted to take Milan somewhere she could roam around without holding my hand. So, we took another trip last weekend to the arboretum.

She likes walking around and seeing the flowers.

She is very curious:)
We had a relaxing day:)
